Sleek Luna Luz Dresses for Travel Wear
Why would you want to wear jeans and sweats when a slinky travel dress is more flattering and has enough stretch to give you room to breathe? Also, dresses are quicker and easier to throw on because you don't have to match the top with the bottom. So, for a quick dash to the store, you can just don a slip-on dress and some Havaianas flip flops. Add big sunglasses for a casually funky St. Tropez style. For winter, wear your dress with sexy high-heel boots.
Real Life Experience
When I write about travel clothing for women over 40 or 50, I tell you what works for me. I am a free spirit and no one pays me to write about specific brands. Travel Clothes for Europe
Now that I am retired, I have more time to travel. But, now that I am retired, I need to travel on the cheap, especially in Europe, so I always look for lightweight, pragmatic frocks that are simple enough to wear during a day at the Louvre, yet elegant enough to tart up with pearls for a late dinner at a little restaurant in the Marais district.
Luna Luz clothing is designed in Spain and made in the U.S. So, I feel good knowing that I am supporting an American manufacturer and I am buying well-made, medium-priced travel clothing that will never go out of style.
My real-life wardrobe staples are travel dresses, such as those made by Travel Smith, Rachel Pally, Coldwater Creek, and Luna Luz. And, that's because their dresses are so stretchy I can wear almost any size. To double check, I just tried on my old Luna Luz dress (in size small) that I bought six years ago for a trip to Vienna. (I now buy Luna Luz dresses in extra large. The weight change is from medication, so I am what I am, for the time being. Yet, I'm not ready to give up on elegance.) Well, the old Luna Luz dress looks tight, but I could wear it, comfortably, in a fashion emergency, if I threw a gauzy cardigan over it. How is that for easy fit?
My Favorite Luna Luz Dresses
My first Luna Luz love was an off-shoulder three-quarter-sleeve Tie Dress. This style is great because you can wear the lightweight skirt down in the normal fashion or you can shorten the skirt into poufs by using the interior ties. I recommend this dress or one of the other convertible-skirt styles because you can travel light and still look different with one simple adaptation. Also, this frock comes in 16 colors.
Most of Luna Luz’ stretchy bodices are made of a nice cotton-Lycra fabric, which is slinky and figure hugging, but still substantial and not sheer or clingy. Well, my body has changed over the years, so I now look better in the Luna Luz Cross Over Dress (enlarge photo below). This newer style holds my tummy in with its comfortable bias design, but it gives me sexy curves with its flaired cotton skirt. Truly, the Cross Over Dress looks like it was custom made for me.
