Resort Casual Wear for Women

Clean, cool, sophisticated, elegant effortless. These are some of the words that a resort casual attire should embody. Resort wear, in its essence, is the clothing that you would wear to a vacation or to a resort. It is a notch above your regular casual wear and it is miles away from the tailored business wear. Imagine you are traveling first class to an exotic island or are going to lounge around in your own private yacht. What would you wear in such a scenario? Yes, you got it right... it is resort wear. It's not individual clothing that makes resort casual wear into the fashionable wear that it is. It is more about how you layer clothing, mix and match different clothing items and accessorize it to attain an air of effortless chic. From palazzo pants to maxi dresses, from blingy statement necklaces to tribal inspired earrings, here we will give you the low down of looking stylish in resort wear.

Resort Casual Attire for Women

Palazzo Pants
One of the best pieces of resort casual wear that no women can do without is a pair of sexy palazzo pants. Palazzo pants that are fitted at the waist and flare down at the bottom are just perfect for women of any height and body structure. They give you a modern and chic look and the best thing is that it can be paired with many different tops. You can find a good pair of palazzo pants from high-end designers like Gucci and 3.1 Phillip Lim to high street brands like Mango, Promod and Topshop.

Playsuit
Another great piece of smart casual wear for ladies that you just got to have in your wardrobe is the playsuit. A sexy floral playsuit with straps or even the strapless version would make you look glamorous in an effortless way. Chiffon, crushed silk and linen playsuits in saturated hues and bright florals are one of the best trends this season. A slouchy shrug or a sheer organza jacket will give your bare arms some coverage if the weather gets a bit chilly.

Maxi Dress
A maxi dress in an exquisite floral print with a bit of volume at the bottom and a hint of shimmer is one of the best resort casual wear. For resort wear, you cannot choose a maxi dress which is run-of-the-mill and boring. You need to up the ante a bit by going with bold floral prints or animal prints in a sexy figure hugging silhouette. Gone are the days when you would slip into something mundane like a strappy maxi dress in cotton or linen and call it resort wear. What you need is a maxi dress in a flowy material like chiffon, Georgette or silk satin with a trendy botanical print or bold floral print in citrusy colors. Halter necks or plunging V neck maxi dresses with sequins at the yoke are also a good choice.

How to Dress in Resort Casual Attire

Just knowing which clothing items to choose for resort wear is not enough. You need to know how to put together these items to look absolutely resort ready. If you are going to wear palazzo pants, then you should pair it with a scoop neck blouse or an off shoulder blouse. A wide obi belt that clinches your waist and shows off your figure is perfect for such an outfit. Pair it with block heels in a neutral hue and lot of gold bangles in one arm. To finish the look, tie a silk scarf in a nautical print over your shoulder and carry an oversized gold tote bag. Nude makeup with citrus colored nail paint and a berry hued lipstain will make you look spectacular and très chic.

Another great resort wear outfit that looks very contemporary and fashionable is the kaftan. A kaftan in an animal print of black and white or painterly print with sequin detailings at the hemline and neckline is just perfect. Pair it with platform pumps or sparkly stacked heels and statement bib necklace. The best thing about a kaftan is that you can wear it over your swimsuit when you are lounging around the hotel pool.

Resort casual wear for women is all about understated glamor that looks relaxed and effortless. By mixing and matching your outfits, you can create some beautiful resort wear that looks chic and stylish.

What's In and What's Out in Fashion 2012

The fashion world will not stop innovating. In 2012, the trend of fashion world and accessories design predicts a more dynamic, more risky, and has a more conventional silhouette. This design will replace the variety of styles popular in the year 2011. Mini chain-handle bags, for example, will be displaced by a flexible envelope clutch to wear in the morning or night. Jumper will look more chic when paired with long-sleeved depths, not the short. So, what style should you choose or left of your wardrobe?

What's IN
1. Masculine-feminine. One of the fashion styles in 2012 which will be a lot like the dress that seemed somewhat masculine, but still feminine. Will also be lots of motocross style inspired by the use of mesh, padding, lines, and zippers.

2. Drop-waist dress. Dress model year '20 with the piece at the waist so that it looks like a babydoll. However, this piece dress will make you feel more refreshed and more mature. For a more glamorous style, choose a dress with no sleeves. As for everyday use, the choice of sleeveless dresses would look beautiful.

3. Large brooch. Bros and the various applications of embroidery in large measure will be back in demand this year. Starting from various types of unique brooches, until a funny homemade brooch.

4. Baseball cap. Baseball cap often appeared for 12 times in a fashion show in the spring, so no doubt will be the current trend. And, do not think this cap will only be popular for those who like sporty style. Designers like Karen Walker designed a baseball cap with a motif of flowers that will not give the impression of a tomboy in your appearance. Out: fedora hat.

5. Platform sneakers. This shoe is a transition from the model in platform shoes last spring. If last season, sneakers with soles standards become a trend now that would be a choice of sneakers with thick soles and high but still flat. Out: flat sneaker soles.

6. Loose-fit jeans. This year that will be popular jeans are kind of loose fit. The piece is a little loose but tight at the bottom allows your foot to "breathe". Piece pants will also provide a courteous silhouette when paired with high heels or stilettos. Out: Skinny jeans.

7. Shorts. Bermuda pants, or pants with loose knee-length pieces, would be more polite and easily combined. Pair with slim-fit tops that make it look more chic. Out: Hot pants.

What's OUT:
1. Harem pants. Harem pants are made for people who want to cover her upper body is great, so it would look baggy on the top and tight at the ankle. People with wide hips are less suitable wear pants of this type.
2. Owl motif. Appear in a variety of accessories, from necklaces to the owl-shaped motif T-shirt. But, in fact many kinds of other cute animals that could be used to motive accessories and materials.

3. Square heels. Currently women's shoes that have the right square will be avoided as it is considered much less fashionable. Many women who would prefer a shoe with a sharp right, and open-toe on the front.

4. Animal caps. Hat-shaped animals, such as a bear or a tiger, it does look cute and adorable. However, it seems this accessory should be avoided in this year, especially for those who want to look mature.

5. Bubble skirt. Bubble skirt or popularly known as the balloon skirt (bubble skirts) are very popular in recent years. This skirt makes hips look more beautiful women, and volume.

6. Gladiator sandals. This type of gladiator sandals avoided because many designs have a lot of rope and tall, so it does not seem practical. Wedges shoes are still the favorite, but a classic shoe without a lot of detail going back mainstream. The differentiator is a classic shoes with soles of wood motif.

7. Dress all size. Often you find this type of clothing in several shopping centers, and it is sometimes difficult for you. Because, not all size all look good on your body. Type of clothing is often called "popcorn shirts" will not be much more preferable.

Business Casual Jeans

Business Casual Jeans
Many corporate houses are embracing new forms of dress code, such as business casual, smart casual etc. The purpose behind this move is to create a comfortable work environment for the employees. Heavy business suits, neck ties, formal shoes etc. can all be very suffocating for the employees and may affect their productivity. A more lenient approach comes in the form of a business casual dress code. This dress code portrays a professional image while still allowing the employee to stay comfortable. This type of dress code also allows you to experiment a little with your attire. However, as there are no specific norms regarding what is acceptable as business casual attire and what is not, there is a lot of confusion at the employee level. More so, when it comes to wearing a pair of denims. So, can you really wear a jeans to workplace even when the dress code says business casual? Let us find out...

Can You Wear a Jeans at Workplace?

Jeans is an acceptable form of dress code when the work culture is liberal and promotes casual dressing. Creative fields especially are more relaxed about dress codes. In such organizations, jeans can be a part of everyday dressing. Besides, some organizations have a particular 'jeans acceptable' dress code as a part of 'Friday casuals'. In all such cases, it is acceptable to wear jeans to work. However, when you are unsure about the acceptance of jeans as a part of business casual dressing, but want to wear it regardless, then you can certainly benefit from the following tips.
Business Casual Jeans

Before deciding what to wear for a business casual dress code, it is a must that you evaluate the work culture of the respective organization. Observing your superiors is a good idea to start with. Even though the dress code is relaxed, you will never find executives dressed in baggy or distressed jeans and sports T-shirt. Generally, it is recommended that you should always dress up one level up of what is expected out of you. If your job involves interaction with clients or you are in hospitality industry, then you will be required to dress up formally all the time. Such industries do not encourage wearing jeans. If you must wear a jeans, then you will still have to conform to the norms of business casual attire.

How to Wear a Business Casual Jeans?

First things first, you cannot wear a low rise, ripped, faded, frayed or distressed jeans to work, no matter how liberal your work culture is. Besides, jeans with heavy embroidery, too many pockets and other embellishments also does not make it to a business casual attire. Also, cargo jeans and other ill fitting jeans cannot form a part of your office dressing. Now that you know what you cannot wear to work, the rest can be easy.

Business Casual Jeans for Women
The classic color for jeans for working women is royal blue or black. Jeans in lightweight fabric is suitable for a business casual attire as it resembles slacks or trousers. Similarly, a boot cut jeans must be preferred over a straight fit jeans as it gives an impression of a formal trouser. Although, there is no harm in wearing a straight fit jeans, skinny jeans must be avoided at all costs. You can dress up on a more formal side by teaming up your jeans with silk blouses, knit tops and button down shirts. Complete your business casual look with a decent pair of shoes and handbag.

Business Casual Jeans for Men
Men should wear a classic pair of jeans in blue or navy color. Slim fits, boot cuts are definitely not for men. They should instead go for a simple straight fit jeans. Men can team up their jeans with button down shirts such as Oxfords or they can wear a simple T-shirt and throw a sports jacket or a blazer. A polo shirt is also acceptable as a form of business casual dressing in some companies. Wear a pair of loafers or formal shoes to complete your look.

Thus, one can indeed wear a jeans to work if they know how to wear it correctly. If you get your ensemble right, no one will ever know that you wear a jeans to work! Hope, you found this article helpful.

Hair how to: the elegant looped-under ponytail

When we listed the center part as a hair trend for 2012 it was less about the part itself (we know it’s far from revolutionary) and more about the looks and styles that come with it. A center part with flowing locks can be hippie or casual or even jet-settingly glamorous, but pair it with this looped-under ponytail and it becomes an elegant look of equestrian proportions.

On Carolina Herrera’s spring 2012 runway, this showpony hairstyle was kept perfectly tidy, bar for a hint of teased volume and a few loose strands around the face that added an authenticy, as if just stepping in from a ride. Like others of 2012′s ‘done’ hairstyles this one is careful yet not over-fussy, and doesn’t have to be reserved for the evening.

Follow the steps on how to create it after the break.

If you’d like to make sure that you don’t miss any of the other looks in this year’s hair trends guide, you can subscribe to our newsletter or RSS feed.

Orlando Pita, using Moroccanoil, created the graceful look for the Carolina Herrera runway. He used the following steps:
  1. Start with clean, healthy-looking hair. If your hair is damaged or frizzy in texture, use a smoothing and conditioning oil or balm (backstage at Carolina Herrera, Pita used Morrocanoil Light) to help improve the quality and give it a natural looking shine.
  2. Apply a styling cream (Pita used Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream) to dampened hair, then blow-dry it straight.
  3. Part the hair in the middle and pull it into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck. If your hair is fine, you can tease it a little for more volume then spray it with hairspray to hold it.
  4. Loop the length of the ponytail under and secure with an elastic, keeping one small section free. Using the fingers, mold the shape of the looped ponytail into a neat triangular shape.
  5. Wrap the loose section of hair around the base of the ponytail, covering the elastic. Pin it in place.
  6. Finish with hairspray to hold.
